I was, have & continue to change….
I have been quiet over the past couple of years. I have not sent out newsletters or written many blogs. Ok I have written a couple but that is significantly down from my one a month. In fact the end of 2016 was the last blog I wrote – yikes!
You see there has been a lot of change in my life over the past six years after leaving the corporate world and starting my own business, but in the last three-four years the change has been out of this world.
My business has always been about helping people. But every now and then I would come across someone or something that stumped me. I didn’t have the tools, so would refer these people to other practitioners – but there was no help for them there. And to be honest this frustrated me.
I was constantly on the lookout for something, what that something was I had no idea. I was then introduced to the world of plant medicine and experienced a beautiful medicine called ha-peh. Which is known as sacred tobacco, it is a ceremonial snuff. I initially struggled with this concept as one of the ‘things’ I was known for was helping people become non-smokers. And whilst this medicine is not inhaled it gave me a whole new understanding of what tobacco has become in the West.
I am certainly not advocating the use of commercial, bastardised, chemically laden tobacco. And I still work with people to rid them of this habit. But sacred tobacco when used in a ceremonial context is incredibly grounding and clearing.
From this experience things started to move and change rapidly. My connection to the planet, mother earth became deeper, meditation was a joy, I stopped eating meat (although I do not label myself a vegetarian, as who knows one day my body may need meat – I choose to honour the needs of my body), I started drinking spring water instead of filtered water and I went to Peru and sat Ayahuasca and Wachuma.
I could talk for hours, in fact days about this. The actual experience itself, but more fundamentally the changes that occurred in my life after this journey. Suffice to say my life changed again for the better. So many things improved, but if I had to sum up in one sentence it would be that I improved. I changed, and this all started with changing the relationship I had with myself, becoming reconnected and clearing past traumas.
In the West I would hazard a guess, and be so bold as to say that 95% of the population are walking around with some kind of unresolved trauma. It can be a trauma we would deem minor or something significant, but they all have an impact on how we show up in the world. Unresolved trauma, disconnection from reality and not having a great relationship with one self; I have found are the cause of everything that we perceive to be wrong in our lives (although I have also come to understand there is no right or wrong).
For those who have read my posts or listened to interviews, you would know that I understand trauma having experienced some myself. From abandonment as a child, rape, domestic violence and a suicide attempt. These traumas and more left me disconnected, with a distinct lack of self worth and love. And this played out in so many ways throughout my life.
I have found if you don’t have a good relationship with yourself you may eat or drink the wrong things. If you don’t have a good relationship with yourself you project a less than positive self-image. This in turn can impact your external relationships and health. Unresolved trauma definitely impacts your health, self-image and therefore everything else in life. And dare I say, ditto to disconnection from reality.
Now this may seem very simplified, but it is my truth. We humans (excuse the language) are fucking fantastic at taking something very simple and making it into something so complex that we give up trying to figure it out. It becomes too hard, or there is a level of fear that we are not willing to face. But to get to the other side we need to.
My journey continued, I became passionate about learning what medicines could be served in the West. I discovered a beautiful medicine called Kambo. It is the secretion of a frog from the Amazon with the botanical name Phyllomudsa Bicolour. As this medicine has no DMT or hallucinogenic properties, it can be served in Australia as can ha-peh.
Big pharmaceuticals have been attempting to synthesis the peptides from Kambo for nearly 130 years, and there are over 70 patents pending. That has to tell you something. They took the frogs out of the jungle, they stopped producing. They built a laboratory in the jungle. You guessed it the frogs stopped producing. The only known predator for this beautiful frog is man.
If you would like to do your own research then please do so using the botanical name above, why? As with everything there is negative press, but generally if you follow the money trail you will see this negativity is funded by big pharmaceuticals who are busting their balls to synthesise and then control this medicine, or people who have little to no direct experience.
So I followed my calling and learnt how to serve these medicines, in Australia and Peru. And have been serving both for nearly three years. These medicines are not for everyone, and can be intense, but if you are called and you do not have any of the contraindications, then they are truly magical.
Now I can hear and feel some people saying, what new age bull-shit. And I totally get your scepticism. But I can say my clients have come from far and wide. I have worked with clinical psychologists, lawyers, chefs, sports people, accountants, radiographers, nurses, pilots, business owners, corporate executives, firemen, pharmacists etc. There is no industry or walk of life where this medicine has not benefited the people I have served.
Because of these new additions to my skill set, so to speak I have been immersed in training and working with these gifts from pachamama. Hence my silence. I have however continued my work with coaching and clinical hypnotherapy and have found that the changes within myself, even if clients do not work with the medicines or even know about them, have made sessions for them so much more profound and effective.
I have also been travelling for the past 18 months, from Brisbane to Sydney every 2-3 months to take the medicine further afield.
Change moving forward…
As I continue my path for constant personal growth and change, I continue to be passionate about serving others.
For those curious about my clinical hypnotherapy and coaching. Hypnotherapy remains the same and is still a beautiful and gentle method for change. Coaching, well there has been a change to the structure. I no longer offer the stock standard 3 months, I feel a bit old hat now. I have a day program, one on one (again not for everyone) where we incorporate the medicines and other modalities, the day is structured for you. Otherwise my coaching consists of no more than 5 clients a month who book for 2 sessions. It is then decided at the end of the second session whether the client has a need at this time to continue, or whether integration time is required.
The medicine, I hold monthly ceremonies and also work with people one on one. It is all about working in with the client and their needs. When you are in service and your boss is a frog, then you need to be flexible.
If you would like to know more about the work that I am doing, or are ready to change then please feel free to contact me on 0433 299 079 or contact@solutionsby.com.au
Have a magical day, and if I can be of service please reach out.
