Ok this is a huge generalisation, however have you noticed those that have a lot of discord and disharmony in their lives also have a lot of clutter. This can be emotional, physical or both. They can often spend a lot of time complaining about what they don’t have rather than observing what they do have, they also often fail to make room for ‘new’ things to come into their life.
So take stock, what is in your life at the moment physical or emotional that is holding your back, dragging you down?
My top 3 suggestions:
Focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want. There is scientific proof that the mind body connection can work wonders. If you constantly focus on the things you don’t want the universe will oblige and give you more of the same. Taking this on board it is also necessary to check the language you use with yourself. Instead of saying “I want to quit smoking” say “I want to be a fresh air breathing person”, instead of “I want to lose weight” say “I want to donate kilos to the universe”. Be aware of mind clutter.
Eliminate physical clutter, this can be overwhelming for some – if it is please seek help. Start small, one room at a time, one drawer, one cupboard. I don’t bring anything new into my home without taking something out. Ok books are the exception, however I have given over 150 books to charity; books I loved, had read often – there was no room for anything new. Now I have space for more. If I really want something, I will create the void so that my “new” thing has a place to come home to.
Take stock of the people you surround yourself with, do they uplift you or drag you down? I am not suggesting that you eliminate these people from your life, just be aware of the impact. Protect yourself and limit your exposure to them. Remember this is your life.
